Technical description of the product (MIKROE-3001):

Supercapacitor charger providing continuous power for a load connected to the output terminals. Also offers a temporary backup power supply when the main power supply is abruptly disconnected. Provides power for applications with high peak power requirements, such as LED flashes, PCMCIA TX bursts, HDD bursts, GPRS/GSM transmitters, and similar. Uses two 3.3F supercapacitors connected in series as temporary power storage banks. Ideal as a backup power source for battery-operated embedded applications or for current-limited applications with high peak power requirements. On-board LTC3225 150mA supercapacitor charger from Linear Technology. Features: automatic supercapacitor cell balancing, low noise constant frequency charging, low power mode with no influence on supercapacitor charge, two high quality 3.3F supercapacitors.
